I always thought 'unexplainable' was US english for 'inexplainable'...
It is in the Killers song- "Why Do I Keep Counting?" and it always jars.

inexplicable, not to be confused with unexplained, which is different - the latter has yet to be explained, eg alien landing stories, while the former simply cannot be explained
