How do I refer to them in the plural?

Cervixes. Don't do Latin plurals of words that are common in English. (Cervices, no) Why would you need more than one?

Some women have 2! I needed to explain that to a medical student but couldn't because I couldn't bear not knowing the correct form.

So it went 'In this lady, her cervi.....mumble mumble....oh that's my phone...'
I was hoping to say '...are positioned next to each other, though one is slightly posterior'

I think (from memory) that cervi would be more than one deer. Definitely couldn't be the plural of cervix, I'm afraid.

Tut - it was the consultant who suggested that too. He went to Ampleforth to, how dare he confuse me futher. With deer too. I'll email him tomorrow.

I do have a great link to a website where a woman has posted daily pics of her cervix for a whole menstrual month. It is fascinating to see the subtle yet amazing biological changes that happen! Our bodies are awesome! I would post it up but am sure I'd get loads of MNers flaming me about it...
