My boss 'corrected' my version today and I want to make sure I'm not going mad before I challenge him!

worst case, I thing...

MaryAnnSingleton · 03/03/2009 19:24

think

edam · 03/03/2009 19:30

worst.

If you were going to be really thorough I suppose you could have a worse case and a worst case scenario - i.e. one if things go wrong and back up in case it's a complete and utter disaster. But I guess he means 'worst'.

Tinker · 03/03/2009 19:39

Go on, what did you say?

SouthernMeerkat · 03/03/2009 19:48

I had put worst case scenario because in the report I had discussed three of them, although the context was that of a general, broad brush discussion. Had there been only two, I would have considered putting worse case!

Woot woot! Worst it is! Take him down. (Now I want sausage (wurst)... nyuck nyuck.)

ellingwoman · 03/03/2009 20:16

Well there are 1.2 million hits on Google for 'worse case' and 21 million for 'worst case'.

Hobnobfanatic · 03/03/2009 20:30

And if you want to be really pedantic, it should be worst-case scenario...

ARAG · 03/03/2009 21:21

Oooh... hobnob... that's taking it up a notch -- I like it!

edam · 03/03/2009 22:31

Hobnob is right - how the hell did I miss out on those top pedant points?

(Do you think we could get companies interested in a reward system, like Nectar? We alert them to grocer's apostrophes, they give us 5p off baked beans.)

LyraSilvertongue · 03/03/2009 22:35

Shouldn't that be grocers' apostrophes?

neenztwinz · 04/03/2009 13:59

lol
