Perfume Pronunciation

I've never actually posted on this but before (and im using a wierd keyboard with half the letters not working today so please excuse the poor typing) but how do you pronounce the name of the perfume ANIAS ANAIS? I always thought it was A NAY A NAY but now the women on the superdrug adverts on the radio is saying A NAY SSS A NAY SSS. It's driving me nuts!!! Also please excuse any poor punctuation you may find in this popst.

LOL at poor spelling/punctuation in a pedants' post! I thought it was ANAY ANAY too but am happy to be corrected.

It is a nay ees a nay ess. The i has an umlaut (two dots) over it which means you pronounce it as an ee sound.

there is no nay in it at all

It's more an 'eye' than a 'nay'. An eye ees. I was pronouncing 'nay' as 'nigh' in my head but you're reading it as 'neigh'. Definitely An Eye Ees.

A na ees. I too was once corrected by a French speaker. Very embarassing as I am a French graduate but had said it that way form my teens without ever really thinking about it.

We know a little girl called Anais. It's An Eye Eess. You do hear "annay annay" though .

She always gets called Annalise.

Thank you one and all. Still annoyed with the silly superdrug woman but at least I can now pronounce it properly.
