Adjective from sponge

Need to describe something as 'spongey'.

Is it spelt as above, or 'spongy'?

The latter makes me think it would make the word rhyme with 'pong' - but that's what spellchecker wants me to use!

If you're still interested ... I think spongy is correct.

I agree with nopaddle. No point worrying about it looking the same as pongy - think about rough, cough, brought and bough ....
