I can't believe this hasn't got a thread on here yet (perhaps it has and I just haven't found it).
I have to say - just what is the world coming to!?! Why can't we just let our babies be babies. It's bad enough having to shop at Gap for girls clothes because girls clothes on the Britsh High Street make 10 year olds look like super sluts, but high heels (which are worn because of the way they make womens bodies look i.e. sexual) for babies is just one step too far. Have we in the West lost our marbles? Have we really nothing better to spend our money on? Have we totally lost the plot?
High heel shoes are akin to modern day footbinding. They cause malformation of the feet; when worn continuously they cause damage to the bones and ligaments which makes it uncomfortable to walk without heels. They are worn because they force the womans hips/pelvis forward in a 'sexual' manner and make the legs appear longer. They are not worn for comfort nor because they facilitate walking - they are worn purely for looks and NO ONE can convince me otherwise. Yes, I do wear them, occasionally, for the reasons above and after a couple of hours I'm in agony, tottering about taking tiny steps and unable to stride out properly. Just like chinese footbinding.
The last thing we need to do to our young girls is to start stereotyping them so young. The sufragettes must be turning in their graves.
