Anyone else noticed that this is becoming big? I've seen people say it on mn and now have heard Dad and MIL say it 'I'll just have 'a slither of cake' why??? It's SLIVER!!
Anyone else getting annoyed y this? (Sorry for typos and lazy grammar - one handed typing

Well, techincally they did bring them from the shop

sliver/slither is more a pronunciation thing I think.

Ooh that is really irritating.

Trinity, 'brought' would be correct if they were turning up at a barbecue or something i.e. bringing you some sausages. Not if they just mean they paid for them.
