Do you say 'movie' for film? Am I being unreasonable if I kill someone for doing it?

It's all there really - movie or film? If you are American or Australian or a New Zealander or something, that's ok btw.

I feel the tide is turning in favour of either - and this was a straw poll... does this mean I am not allowed to kill dh?

It is a film in the cinema. (well that's my opinion).

Movie is American. Pictures...maybe if you are from ooop north?!

For me it is a film at the pictures. However, I was corrected by my 5 year old niece "It's the cinema!"

Do people really say movies? YANBU, obviously. Going to the pictures is nice if a bit deliberately nostalgic but reminds me of my dear mum who used to say 'going to the flicks'.
