Anyway that left him with a triangle and a circle. And it was the circle fgs.

Can a circle be described as having 'less than four sides'?

I was told that it had an infinite number.

Spatz · 26/09/2008 07:23

It should be fewer!

Pushpinia · 26/09/2008 07:44

Yes I know Spatz, that was my initial problem with it. Then the sides thing just upset me even more

A circle does have fewer than 4 sides - an inside and an outside. Can't see your problem with this tbh.

Hang on, this is Pedants' Corner you know...are you a fully paid up member?

A circle has one side, that is what we teach in school. The term side is used to describe the edges so a square has 4 sides with 4 corners, a circle has 1 side with no corners

Simplysally · 26/09/2008 18:58

Surely a triangle has fewer than 4 sides as well?

Pushpinia · 26/09/2008 19:19

Yes I agree. i think so anyway

Unless you count the inside as well - that would make six then.
