Half a per cent

Gah! I've just come across it again today and it REALLY hacks me off. Most things I can let slip (I'm very tolerant, me) but not 'half a per cent'.

Galling the extreme. DH and I have special look for everytime someone on TV utters the words 110%. Or, as seen on Hells Kitchen USA last week 1000%. Entire panel of X Factor all need locking in a cupboard in pedants corner.
