and there was a sign on the play equipment stating "adults must enter play area. if your children need assistants, please ask a member of staff"

I wonder whether the staff are offering their services in managing the minutiae of the children's lives? Secretarial services? Media management?

luckily i had a handy ballpoint pen in my handbag and made a swift adjustment whilst the lady's back was turned

and they had a misplaced apostrophe 's' on sock's.
