My DH and I have been having a pathetic disagreement over our reading of a map of Spain. Basically a few years ago we drove from Gibraltar to Jerez on the A381 here. When we were recounting to a friend what a harrowing journey it was he said we'd driven 'down' the road, and I gently corrected him, saying that it was 'up'. Even when I showed him on the map (he suggested this after the friend had gone) he refused to accept that one could describe the journey as 'up' - his only concession was that 'it was west, but not up'.
Now, come on. Is it up or down?
PS I shan't show him the results of this thread, even if I'm right - I'm not THAT childish!
