When was the last time you ate a desert?

I’m quite partial to a Sahara, what about you?
My friends IRL think deserts are too dry and only work with custard. I think they are fun sponges.

It does beg the question, do some people think desertification is the process by which takeaway cake shops have appeared all over the place since Covid?

I went to a restaurant today that was offering " sandwhiches". I really wanted a sandwhat.

Surely they should have been ‘sandthats’?

Itsthewoluff · 11/09/2026 21:58

desert as a pose to dessert?

I suppose it beats a sandwhere, I don’t like when it gets in all the crevasses. I have to complain but sometimes they say I’m being Gobi.

I wish I was brave enough to try Kalahari but I don’t like squid. 😅

Had one after a meal out, but complained it was a bit dry. Chef blamed his assistant - not cool to make them an escape goat.

RigsbysCat · 12/09/2026 04:02

On the flip side when I bought my car the salesperson pronounced the colour as "dessert orange". I had to try hard not to smirk as I had visions of peach melba.

Recently saw someone talking about "camel tow" 😂😂

Did it go down like a damp squid?

The standard of pedantry is in decline on Mumsnet clearly if a post using "beg the question" wrongly isn't being picked up immediately. Sad times.

Aviarythebird · 12/09/2026 05:21

Am far too well bred to be getting involved in that whole desert area and would only dream of eating pudding.

PestoPastaLife · 12/09/2026 06:51

My toddler’s nursery has vegetable crudities on the menu. I assume they buy from Odd Box.

Westfacing · 12/09/2026 07:25

Are they just?

Myfridgeiscool · 15/09/2026 13:06

I only eat desert when myself is at the dinning table.

I only eat desert when the house is desserted.

Is that the middle eastern version of 'cow tow'?

on Nextdoor regarding a street not far from me.

Sorry, that was intended for the viscous thread.
