I read it as "I suppose"! Didn't see it in context though.

I saw it on a thread about someone's acquaintance not being impressed with their choice of easy dinner. If you saw the same one, let's hope it was an isolated incident.

Ah, yes, quite possibly, because I was reading that thread. The sausage bake. Fingers crossed it hasn’t yet escaped the confines of that post then! Hopefully it was just a typo, as a pose to deliberate 😄

Yes, I saw that on the ‘not impressed with dinner’ thread and sent it to my daughter. We collect these things (both English teachers).

I don’t think it was a typing error - I read it out loud and did ‘a pose’ in the style of ‘en vogue’ as I did so 😬

I am a tutor of adult students (not English, therapy subject). I would love to eventually tutor English. I would feel that I could make a real difference!

I acknowledge that my English isn't perfect however, I always strive to improve, and some seem to just not care!

While you're here (😆) I was taught (I believe in school but could've been college or university) that 'English' (capitalised) is for when referring to the nationality and that it is correct to type 'english' if referring to the language, or in any other capacity (e.g. 'I had an english muffin for lunch). But it seems that that was incorrect, can you please enlighten me?

“English” should be capitalised when it’s a proper noun, or an adjective derived from a proper noun - so English muffins. Whoever taught you otherwise is wrong!

DS is a voracious reader but dyslexic with slow processing so could make this mistake. He struggles immensely and finds it frustrating. He often simply can't "see" what is right or wrong whilst knowing the word well.

On another forum the other day, I was reading about somebody's search for respite care and one person consistently typed rest bite. There were dozens and dozens of correctly spelled posts on which she commented or replied, but she never once corrected herself. It seemed bizarre to me but perhaps people read what they want to read? Make mistakes so many times they no longer see them?

I used to be quite pedantic but reserve that for official bodies and professions now rather than individuals whose circumstances I don't know. It's not always easy.

My partner and cousin are both dyslexic. I understand that it changes things altogether. Like judging someone who can't walk for using the lift.
