As a student I once wrote a wildly enthusiastic postcard to a friend. ('It's great here! We're having so much fun!!! 'etc etc)

She wrote back (witheringly) 'Don't use so many exclamation marks. I know how to react, thanks'

As Terry Pratchett wrote, multiple exclamation marks are a sure sign of a deranged mind...

I do this all the time and then go back and delete them as I am quite aware that it makes me look like some kind of nutter. !.

I have been driven mad for the past few months by our PTA chair who goes totally overboard with the !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after every sentence, in every farking email or letter she sends.

I think she is trying to get across how mad and zany she is but it just makes me want to punch her.
