On local FB, a dolphin spotted in bay..a comment that it is a barksin ( basking) shark. Any advances on that one?

That’s surely no typo - it’s not even all the right letters but not necessarily in the right order

That sounds like someone spelling it how it sounds. If they’ve never seen it written down they have probably just taken their best guess. It’s unlikely to have ever come up at school.
