Heard on several FB advertisements today - 'poker dot' instead of 'polka dot'! Why? How do they arrive at that pronunciation?

They probably just misheard it!! This reminds me of Joey in Friends with his “moo” point!!

It reminds me of the way Jeremy Clarkson always used to say 'Vokeswagen' on Top Gear. Even if you don't know that the Germans pronounce a 'v' like our 'f' and a 'w' like our 'v'... where did the 'l' disappear?!

I see that eBay is riddled with listings for 'poker dot' dresses, etc. 🤯
