That's so wrong. Tehee

I saw in a cafe on the A1 once 'pots of tea - Bottomless OAP's just £1'

I sniggered for hours imagining such a thing.

'Made fresh before your very "eye's".'

My grandparents always referred to Muesli as "Museli" and in their honour that's what it's still called in our house, now handed down as a linguistic quirk to my kids, who of course use it on other people who think they have just got it wrong.

my pet hate - CD's or the like

DS1 the other day wrote in a thank you card, and I quote: Hope yoar' well

In his defense he is only 5 (y1) but shows how the misuse of the apostrophe rubs off on one so young - he knew there was one in there so stuck it at the end of the word! (I am ignoring the spelling btw - we are still on phonics )

I saw "All made using the "freshest" of ingredients".

It didn't inspire confidence.

We still eat smocked salmon with scrambled egg in honour of a hotel in the Peak District where we had breakfast once.

wishfort · 21/06/2008 09:11

Here's another. In honour of....oh somebody or other a group of friends began say "fox paz" for "faux pas".

Somebody, much later, took me aside to correct me in my error. Tee hee.

Last night we had dinner at the golf club. On the menu...

Chicken Roulard with Baslamic Vinigarette

something with Horseraddish

Suzheanne Chicken

I'm assuming the last one should have been Szechuan. As I giggled at the errors DP tutted at my pedantry

Paninis instead of panini. Panini is the plural of panino. I've even come across pannini's
