At work we refer to job roles by initials

there can be lots of people in same job role

so when refering collectivly to these people

how does it write?

lets say i am refering to a group of Senior Finance Officers

would that be SFO's or SFOs' or SFOs

?

am thinking looking at Pedants' corner title ( a collective of Pedants

Comma when you omit a letter e.g. it's a rainy day, or when you are denoting ownership e.g. The Womens' Institute.

It's just a plural, so apple becomes apples, melon becomes melons. (Well, not in my local greengrocer's shop...)

This has nothing to do with commas or apostrophes but wanted to share.

Dh's work uses initials for job titles too. A few years ago there was a Business Unit Manager called Simon Platz, who was affectionately known to all as BUMSPLATZ.

It's probably more amusing after a couple of glasses. I'll get me coat.

If you had bumper sticks on your car that said "I Love Pedants", there would be no need need for an apostrophe, because it's just a regular plural.

But the corner BELONGS to the pedants, so it is Pedants' Corner.

A server where I used to work was call S1EXCHANGE - I wasn't the only one who used to read is as 'sex change'
