Whatever happened to ‘snobbish’?

Has the word always been ‘snobby’ on MN? Much the same as ‘judgy’ instead of ‘judgemental’?

Snobby but judgemental would be the words I would use naturally

Both 'snobby' and 'judgy' are sackable offences. Appalling insults to the English language and part of the incessant lowering of standards suffered by denizens of the mother country. Throw in americanisms such as 'guy' for 'chap' or 'fellow' - and now 'guys' is even applied to a mixed (female & male) group of human beings - and we are toast. WE ARE TOAST 👎🏾

I agree with you, OP. There are worse crimes, of course, but yes. They sound babyish. I would say snobbish and judgemental.

We have coffee in a local cafe. The young man comes and says. "Hi, guys, have you decided what you're having?" and I have replied, "Yes, guy." Shall I say it more loudly next time? We are all female in the coffeeing party.

Perhaps say it more loudly whilst performing a citizen's arrest on the delinquent 👍🏾

addressing the offender as 'Guy' (whether male or female) is inspired !! 😂😂😂 going to take this up 👌 We may not win (in this particular case, not all) but give them a run for their money 🥊🖕🏾👍🏾

I’m possibly an outlier, but I’d hate to be in a group that was addressed as “ladies”.

“Morning everyone” would be entirely acceptable
