I'm reading a book just now and the word defiantly has been used, correctly of course, but it's such a jar to see it. It's used more often incorrectly!

I know what you mean. I think it’s often ‘cos people tend to write the way they speak.

I think maybe a lot of these apparent errors are due to autocorrect?

Haha I notice that too! I read a cozy mystery recently where the author used ‘defiantly’ correctly and it still made me do a double-take. I guess it’s just one of those words that jump out now
