I've been driven to thinking that one person considering having a kitchen renovation might ask another person, "What tiler did you have?"

Just people who are easily irritated by misuse of the language, I could be a pedant if I could be bothered.

But it can be really irritating when you struggle to figure out what someone means because of it, like misuse of, of and off, or of and have which totally change meanings.

Yes, and lack social intelligence and self awareness.

eg My MIL finds it disrespectful that her grand daughter corrects her speech and conveniently forgets from whence this child might have learned that annoying habit.

Also, she pronounces the 'p' in raspberry and corrects people when they say it correctly.

She needs a hobby because no one wants to be her friend.
