"Adding" people to Facebook

People talk about "they added me" or "I added them" but the thing is you don't actually "add" anyone at all, you send them a friend request and they accept or refuse.

I don't really see a problem here, I must admit. And I usually agree with posts in PC!

The button does say "Add Friend", so although you're technically sending a request, that is what it says so it's no wonder people tend to say that.

Also, if you accept a request then you are by default adding them to your list of friends, so I can understand that too.

I'm not sure I'd object to it in this case. It's hard to think how else you can phrase it really, as the alternative is the equally beastly 'friending'.

I find this a bit annoying too - someone saying about how someone they know is being intrusive, saying “they added me on Facebook and now they’re making lots of comments about my pics” etc - just ignore the friend request? Don’t just accept requests from people you don’t know well.

Yes that's it, they can't add you without your consent!!!
