Nothing to do with lodgers, or residential schools. And the UK doesn't have a Boarder Agency. No boarder is being breached.

We do however have borders.

I deleted some woman on Facebook for posting 'Close are boarders!!'.

’Are’ for ‘our’ is another! In some areas, names are often prefixed with ‘our’, which sounds like ‘are’, as in ‘are mum’; ‘are Bill’. That’s probably why it gets written as such.

As a pedantic grumpy menopausal teacher I do get irritated with the Instagram reels of teachers making pretty displays on the walls with “boarders” around them.

Gardens with boarders too … odd way of filling your beds.

So that job offer from Doctours without Boarders isn't genuine... 🤔

I hadn’t realised just how illiterate half of the population is! Quite shocking really.

It’s a favourite of estate agents, along with shower ‘cubicals’.
