It's a system-generated email from Photobox:

"Hi,

Have a look at my album I have shared with you on PhotoBox."

Leaving aside the thorny issue of whether one can have "shared" something with someone unilaterally, and whether you can share something "on" something intangible rather than, say, a lawn or a table, shouldn't it read:

"Have a look at the album I have shared with you on Photobox."

and NOT a pleasant one, Threadworm, if my memory of worm anatomy and its dimensions serves me well.

My dear Threadie, I feel I must also share with you my discovery concerning your private life, which I chanced across whilst researching online:

"Two worms will nestle against one another in opposite directions so that their clitella are touching. Each worm will secrete mucus forming a band around both worms at the clitella. Sperm from each worm move down a groove into receiving pouches of the other worm. The sperm enters a storage sac. The worms slide apart, withdrawing backwards through the band and continue on their separate ways."

My dear, we are here for you, if you ever need to talk. We are all very liberal, you have no need to worry about shocking us.

Well I must say that that account of wormy passion was making me very hot under the collar -- UNTIL I noticed that it has 'sperm' first as a plural noun and then as a singular one. What a passionkiller.

oh buggeration. you win.

Although surely I get an MN prize for clitella?

It's a marketing person's dream.. they've sold us pantypads for days when you really need 'freshness', then there was a horrid lull. But now comes Clitella... for those days when.. when..

I like the idea of the receiving pouch. Perhaps Anya Hindmarch would consider doing something for Threadie - "I'm not a receiving pouch"?

onebatmother · 22/05/2008 23:09

I'm a ...paper .. receiving pouch?

Yes MN prize for clitella. When our guinea pigs need replacing, their successors will be called Clitella and Annuli.

Threadwworm · 22/05/2008 23:20

I had to google Anya Thingy and got this result: "If you would like us to introduce you to luxury partner offers that Anya Hindmarch believes you may find of interest please tick here."

I've ticked and I'm awaiting my luxury partner.

Swedes · 22/05/2008 23:58

Threadworm - I'd like to be a fly on the wall in the petshop when you tell your boys 'they shall be called Clitella and Snatch'

If only!

I'm busy packing for our half-term camping trip to Kielder Forest in Northumberland.

Not sure whether I or the car will explode first.

onebattleaxeDMreader · 23/05/2008 10:40

Good luck Threadie. Perhaps when you get back your luxury partner will have arrived. Have you made arrangements with next door to entertain him if he is delivered in your absence?

Threadwworm · 23/05/2008 10:59

I'm not having the svelte French woman next door entertaining my luxury partner. I've left a note for the courier 'Pls leave lux. partner in greenhouse.'

Threadwworm · 23/05/2008 11:01

Liking your name btw. Very scary. It is a great day for your kind:

Threadwworm · 23/05/2008 11:16

Arf!

onebatmother · 23/05/2008 11:34

Oh dear - I am refusing to meet your eye Swedes.

Nowhere for half-term - dp working 24 hours a day and a bit brassic. But a new lawn - after 2 years of gravel and dirt - and some good friends visiting, so I am hopeful of a pleasant outcome.

OP posts:
Threadwworm · 23/05/2008 11:44

Sounds nice.

DP not coming camping with us. Busy making up scores for rigorously marking exam scripts.

I am a useless camper. We always look like homeless people living rough on spag hoops while all around us smiling alphamums laughingly erect supertents and 'rustle up' banquets

onebatmother · 23/05/2008 11:47

at least you can drive, Threadie. And those alphamums are crying inside, you know.

I am so self-infantilizing that I am only now learning, at the age of two score.

OP posts:
onebatmother · 23/05/2008 11:48

to drive I mean. That was all muddled - I become anxious and error-prone when the conversation veers from bon mots to RL.

OP posts:
Threadwworm · 23/05/2008 11:53

But you live in London. It seems natural not tro drive if you live there cos public transport is good. (I would be too scared to drive in London.)

Well done on having lessons. I didn't learn till I was 31.

Confession: I have just shouted 'Motherfuckers!' at a box of matches because I could not find it fast enough. What will I be like by the time we actually get there?
