I’ve just seen ‘step foot’ twice on the same thread! WTF is the matter with people?

I think this is the first time one of my threads has ever been linked to - a Mumsnet Milestone Grin

Couldn't agree more, OP. Couldn't agree more.

Hate "step foot" as it's incorrect but it seems to be used more frequently nowadays than the correct form.

Sadly like so many other things

Julia Roberts says it in Mona Lisa Smile.

This irritates me so much! 'Step' is an intransitive verb. 'To step foot' is like saying 'to yawn mouth'.
