My dd1's TA and use of 'too' *sigh*

Dd1 is in reception, and there is a Teaching Assistant who works part time in her class. In the mornings she writes on a whiteboard outside the class an outline of what they will be doing in class that day.

One morning in particular, she ended the outline with 'and lots more to!' (to what? I thought). I (gently, and really discreetly) mentioned she had forgotten the second 'o' on 'too', believing it was just a slip and knowing that, if it were me, I would rather know before anyone else saw it!

Anyway, instead of correcting it she proceeded to actually ARGUE with me insisting that ... I WAS WRONG.

I was furious, but walked away as I was getting nowhere but I have noticed that ever since (and this was October last year), she has completely avoided using either 'to' or 'too' on the board or in dd1's home-school book, to my constant mild amusement as I have taken it as a sign that she subsequently found out she was wrong!

Anyway, this week she wrote a comment in dd1's home-school book and for the very first time has tried again. She wrote (sic), 'A pleasure too listen too.'

Noooooooooooo!

I have a red biro twitching, I just daren't!

I may just try a devise a reply using 'to' and 'too' and try to demonstrate!

I would have to reply, "i think so too!"

the times I've been tempted to get my red pen out...once it was ds's class teacher who corrected something ds had written which was in fact correct and she was wrong - gah !

Everyday, I walk past a sign on the front gate of a house called "Toad Hall". The sign in question says "No Weasles".

I am fighting the urge to put a not through the door, but I am worried that I am missing some ironic literary reference. I asked DP what he thought and he hold me to stop being a tosser.

It is pretty crap, I have had similar things in DD's home/school book, but the fact that you had held your grudge for six months suggests (to me) that perhaps your ishoos are greater than hers ?

Ooh, you could have lots of fun with this. I'd just use the words 'to' and 'too' (and possibly 'two') as often as possible in my comments back. I'd just press slightly harder with my pen on these words to emphasise them.

I'm sure this would amuse me more than irritate her, but I'd still do it.

Maybe you could put a note in her home work book.
Too meaning "in addition" or "also".
