Why do so many write this? Is it because they think the sound of the word contains the name Paul?

They're just missing something in their memory of when they will have learned rules for words so they're having to sound it out and write what comes to them I think

I saw this for the very first time today from a poster who is clearly trying to manage her way through an incredibly stressful life event. I think she can be forgiven.

I haven't seen it on here but I've seen it so many times on social media, Twitter, various different places.

Think of words like falling, calling, stalling - nobody puts a u in those but they sound the same.
