Just a quickie..... adviser/advisor? What's the difference? Someone asked me yesterday, as I seem to have acquired a bit of a reputation at work for being a pedant . Fudged the answer and I think I got away with it.... for now. So HELP!!! QUICK!!!!

There is no difference. It's an optional alternative spelling (for someone who gives advice). There are others like this but of course I can't think of any right now...

I think advisor is the American spelling, as my Family Medical Adviser book is spelt with an "e".
