The real pang of this is that Archimedes was SO COOL, such a great great fantastic person for the human race to have produced. So it is piling on the insults for his name to be so taken in vain. He wouldn't have made the mistake about someone else.

Do you know why he died? Because a Roman soldier grunt decided Arch. had "disrespected" him.
