If people can't get the French phrase right, all they have to do is use the equivalent English - "on its way".

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 28/11/2023 11:18

Exactly! And it's not arrived either lol

Oooh, this frustrates me all the time. People on Facebook saying they're "on route" somewhere!

Ah! Perhaps the bastardised hybrid phrase "on route" isn't equivalent to 'en route' or 'on its way' at all. It just means "not actually on its way, possibly not even sent".

@Chersfrozenface 🤣 brilliant! I think you have a point there

Oh I have to use this phrase in my paperwork at work a lot and most of my colleagues get it wrong! It winds me up so much!

I once had a text from a colleague telling me they were "on route veer the M6".
(This was a passenger by the way, not a reckless one-handed driver.)
