forgot password?

Please can someone tell me if this is correct.

Surely it should say "forgotten password?"
it is only 3 extra letters so I am really wondering if I have got it wrong.

It is a message I see under loads of logg in boxes on the internet.

I have taken it to be short for "Have you forgotten your password.. click here"

not "I forgot my password"

"Forgotten password?" Question.

or

"Forgot password." Statement.

Ooh I think there is a question mark.. but am nor sure.

definately just says Forgot not forgotten.
