Are more than one cappuccinos actually cappuccini?
I'm not even sure I've constructed that sentence in the best way; in my defence I'm still in bed, it's early, and I wasn't expecting to be intellectually engaged, as it were, so early in the day.

If you're in Italy, absolutely. Of course, in English it sounds odd so we'd say cappuccinos.

Interesting footnote: if you were in Italy and wanted to talk about breakaway Franciscan friars, they would also be Cappuccini (hence Catacombe die Cappuccini in Palermo, and church of Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini in Rome). In English we call them Capuchins.

But to be honest, the chances of ordering the wrong sort of cappuccini in an Italian cafe are slim.

You can also ask for a cappuccio and you’ll get a coffee not a cap.

Not in the area of Italy I live in. A cappuccio is just what most people ask for when they want a cappuccino. Kind of like asking for a cuppa instead of a cup of tea.
