No apostrophe

Mental image of these animals coming in to buy their own food

I wonder where they keep their purses?

TrinityRhino · 24/02/2008 20:04

I musat be really thick
I dont understand where you would put an apostrophe
and I really dont mean to be thick,
aot of other pedant things I reallt do gt and I get driven mad by wrong things but I dont get this one

RustyBear · 24/02/2008 20:06

"...or are our customers'"
ie are our customers' animals.
Without an apostrophe it means that the animals are the customers.

princessmel · 24/02/2008 20:06

should it be before the last s? otherwise I'm with TR.

RustyBear · 24/02/2008 20:07

Or, of course, if they only have one customer, "..are our customer's"

TrinityRhino · 24/02/2008 20:10

oh I GET IT

Wallace · 24/02/2008 20:10

What RB says, unless they only have one customer, then it should be "customer's"

I have been reading the rest of their website and not a single apostrophe! "its" instead of "it's" and "childrens" for example. Apart from that it is a fantastic website.

I'd have gone with "owned by ourselves or our customers" myself...

Catzenobia · 25/02/2008 10:48

It should be "us" not ourselves as it is not reflexive.
