Been reading online dating profiles. Lots of people say they are ‘a big animal lover’.

Suddenly struck me this could mean one of four things (particularly given the absence of punctuation):

• I like animals, a lot.
• I am unusually large, and I like animals.
• I like large animals.
• I am unusually large, and unusually enthusiastic in bed.

Really, if it’s on a dating profile you’d like to think it’s 4. But sadly it’s not in most cases.

Hoping that you've found a type 4 by now OP.
Now I want to look at dating profiles and see what else people write. Does anyone ever write that they are not an animal lover? So you can eliminate them from your search...

One of my favourite lines in a dating profile was:

'Looking for somebody as like-minded as me.'

It's like looking at one of those Escher illustrations that plays tricks with your mind.

Now that is a mind bender! 😂 I'd be tempted to download a dating app just to read the profiles but I'm not sure my DP would believe me!
