today in the library there was a table of elderly ladies hosting a book club a book theyd been reading was about mental illness 9i think it was bi polar) now fortunately im not suffering from any form of depression however their comments like ....i just wanted to tell her to pull herself together,her poor husband having to put up with that,fancy letting herself go and so on ......it drove me out of the library when the comments progressed to how could she possibly be depressed when she even had an automatic washing machine? and clearly shed struggled with motherhood cos the innane comments went to .....how could she not know how to be a mother? she had all that time to cry in bed yet she didnt cook for her husband in 12 months!!! i could have hit them all on the head with my shopping bag ....seriously it was ignorant and i know its a book club and they were sharing thoughts but the words they used were so degrading it was awful.......
