Letter home from primary school - "next week we will be looking at polar bear's".

AAAGH.

And these people are in charge of our children's education.

aarggghh!!!

We had a letter home from school once that used "there" instead of "their" Dp and I were and when dp mentioned it to the head (they were acquaintances, he didn't march into school brandishing the letter!) the head said "well, I used the spellchecker so it should be right"

You should send a note in asking "you will be looking at polar bear's what?"

As an experiment I should try sending child in with homework complete with several grammatical errors and see how many come home corrected. A friend of mine did this recently and was horrified - it received a gold star and a comment of Fab!.....Fab?
