You should join the apostrophe group who write very polite letters to shopkeepers and public institutions regarding their signage:

www.apostrophe.fsnet.co.uk/

Dh is seriously tempted.

Heated · 18/01/2008 15:05

Which is the shop and question and what was the mistake?

Heated · 18/01/2008 15:06

in question.

MamaVonG · 18/01/2008 15:06

"clearence"

Small gun shop

bless 'em, too busy playing with their big guns to spell words correctly I suppose!

what's wrong with clearence?

Threadworm · 18/01/2008 15:09

Pedantry is best directed at the unarmed IMO.

MamaVonG · 18/01/2008 15:09

Stop wondering. You won't

OP posts:
QuiteNiceSquonk · 18/01/2008 15:09

so, did the fact that they sell guns influence your decision to telephone rather than telling them in person?

MamaVonG · 18/01/2008 15:10

LMAO Threadworm!

OP posts:
MamaVonG · 18/01/2008 15:10

No, Squonk, I am a very good shot myself

Threadworm · 18/01/2008 15:12

Gun crime is at an all-time high, so MamavonG telephone weapons traders to complain ... about their spelling!

QuiteNiceSquonk · 18/01/2008 15:13

you've got to start somewhere, threadworm

Threadworm · 18/01/2008 15:16

Yes, instead of invading Iraq in search of their weapons of mass destruction, it probably would have been better in so many ways if we'd just located a typo on the Iraqi embassy website.

Twiglett · 18/01/2008 15:17

threadworm .. I just lurve you

Threadworm · 18/01/2008 16:17

MamavonG I hope my posts didn't sound critical. They weren't meant to -- it is only that I am a quipoholic.

(Gee, thanks twig.)

ComeOVeneer · 18/01/2008 16:20

Isn't anyone wondering why MamaG is looking a a gun website?

MamaVonG · 18/01/2008 17:54

Hmm yes, gun crime is at an all time high, but I rather suspect it is those people who illegally own guns, rather than responsible licensed people who are going round committing the crimes.

...and i don't think they used shotguns to raid Iraq

MamaVonG · 18/01/2008 18:08

argh ignore me. I am a complete stroppy cow tonight

I'm not anti gun ownership by huntin' shootin' fishin' types in green wellies. What do you do with guns Mama?

MamaVonG · 19/01/2008 09:44

sorry threadworm, I was in arsey mood yesterday

I do clay pigeon shooting and DH is a green welly fishin' shootin' type

Sorry again for being a nark

OP posts:
Thready · 19/01/2008 13:31

You weren't stroppy.

Well, I have a little dog who loves hunting rabbits. And I love watching him. So I haven't got a problem with anyone going out shooting small creatures. Not those dear little clay pigeons, though. They are too sweet.

Today he had a fantastic sprint after a fox. Was fabulous to watch.

MamaVonG · 19/01/2008 22:10

...but they taste great in a pie, if al ittle dry
