Question "X'mas"

Hi there,

I've got a box of cookie cutters in my kitchen. They are in fact called:

"X'mas cookie cutters"

Now, can I just check. Is this actually gramatically correct? At first I thought it was silly, but then I thought, well, the X is an abbreviation for Christ, so maybe it's right.

I don't know though, am I being thick? What's the right answer?

I think it should be Xmas. No apostrophe. But I just hate it, what's wrong with saying Christmas! X -- yuk.

You mean the apostrophe? Doesn't sound right to me - the apostrophe represents missing letters, but in this case there aren't really any missing letters as the X replaces them all.
