Not tumble drier. This is going to crop up so many times now everyone seems to be looking at ways to reduce their energy bill. Please stop. I know I am preaching to the converted on here, but it's really annoying me.

Myself and my daughter

It depends on the context. Usually I grind my teeth because the words are being used instead of "My daughter and I are the subjects of this sentence." I shout at the TV in these cases.

However:-
"I bought cream cakes for myself and my daughter", not "for my daughter and I" or for "my daughter and me".

"Thank you for the welcome you have shown to my daughter and me."

@upinaballoon

Or even worse “my daughter and I’s joint birthday party”. It looks and sounds so wrong!

@PAFMO I don’t know what other corner you’re referring to tbh, unless you mean AIBU? I don’t correct people on the internet, but I don’t (like the aforementioned post refers to) assume those that do are any raft of insulting adjectives.

'It needs mended.'

It bloody doesn't. It needs to be mended or at very least 'it needs mending'.

Why this makes my flesh crawl so much I don't know, as I'm aware it is regionally correct and have learned over the years to be far less pedantic and recognise that language is in constant flux, so common usage is a fair guide etc etc. But I hate it.

But point taken, if I see those types of posts elsewhere I shall ignore and hustle my way over here Grin @PAFMO
