There is an advert on Scottish television at the moment for a jewellers.

Their selling point is that they will take a mould of your engagement ring so it sits "perfect" with your wedding ring. Surely it should be so it sits "perfectly" with your wedding ring? I'm finding it extremely annoying but wondering if I am being unfair Grin

Yes, adverbs seem to be disappearing, unfortunately!

I feel like contacting them lol.

'To sit' is a verb and it needs to be qualified by an adverb and you are not being unfair and do contact them. You can tell them they upset me with their incorrect word and there have I been, all these years, thinking that the Scottish education system was good.Grin

'Adverbs are your friends' was a well used mantra by a former English teaching colleague. Absolutely right.

Hopefully I don't see the advert again and I can get over it lol.

I agree. And the Scottish education system was perfectly good in my day. Complain, definitely!
