Dinosaur, you are just a very confusing person!

All the ones that don't begin with themselves end with themselves, except for aitch.

(Assuming that 'C' is called 'cee' rather than 'see'

My Nana used to say 'jaye/jie' for 'J'. (My father moved 'doon sooth', and I am English, so I haven't heard 'Jie' for a long time.) She was Irish-Scots (ancestors moved from Ireland to Scotland) protestant and her maiden name was 'Aitchison' - pronounced (and spelled) WITHOUT the 'Haitch'!

In Australia it's a Quennsland thing.
My son's teachers have also taught him to say 'haitch'.

I also flatly oppose it and tell him they are wrong.

Apparently they also call Broccoli "broccoleye"

I was taught at school that you don't pronounce 'h' with an 'h'. Simple. And agree it sounds vile, even in the exalted context of the Parthenon (in fact, god, that's worse!).

I am one for an historic hotel though.

I hadn't heard anyone say Haitch until a boy in my sons class came up from England. It is definately not said in Scotland.

I once ditched a boyfriend because he said haitch. I think you should give your DS away, Twig. It's not worth the shame.
