@Pinkywoo

My son has a Batman collection.
But it is a collection of Batmans or Batmen?

A collection of batman toys

Buggerthebotox · 18/07/2021 10:28

Batmans because it is a specific term for a particular thing.

If you were talking about cricket players who bat, it would be batsmen. Imvho.

Buggerthebotox · 18/07/2021 10:29

Although I agree "a collection of Batman toys" sounds less clunky. Smile

What Bugger said.

I think so too.

I agree with Batmans, as I am assuming they are all Batman figures, and not a team of players!

If it was a mixture of Batman figures, plus other characters from the series and/or vehicles etc. then “a collection of Batman toys” would be more accurate.

“A Batman collection” would also work in that context and probably be more commonly used by other collectors, despite the weird juxtaposition of “collection” implying multiple items and “BatMAN” implying a singular item!
