I am normally okay on who/whom, but this is stumping me! Then I remembered the glorious pedants’ corner!

It’s WHO is that, not WHOM is that?

(That is she? That is her?)

Who is that?

That is she.

Obviously register comes into it and most of us normally just say “that’s her/that’s him” but technically in terms of that rule, “that is she” would be right.

Also “This is she” when someone rings your landline and asks for you by name (like that ever happens nowadays).
