A friend, not overly close, has started a new business.

She's sent me an electronic copy of the flyer.

There is a spelling mistake.

Do I tell?

Yes! I would want to know.

Polkasquare · 13/08/2020 09:42

If she sent it to you so that you could check it then do tell her. If she's already printed thousands of copies I wouldn't.

Plus it doesn’t reflect well. Attention to detail and all that.

FelicityPike · 13/08/2020 09:43

Yeah I would

Whenever I see small businesses that start up, I am put off my spelling or grammar mistakes. This is especially true if they do personalised stuff or things with quotes on them. Makes me think they’ll get it wrong if they can’t even get their initial advertising accurate.

It doesn’t take much to get a few people to look at it and check it through for you. Definitely tell her.

Yes, you're helping them.

Karwomannghia · 13/08/2020 09:48

Yes I told my friend in a very apologetic sorry for being such a pedant way!

Pieceofpurplesky · 13/08/2020 10:17

I would - like a PP if I see a mistake on a flyer I don't use the company

happytodayhappytomorrow · 13/08/2020 11:46

Thank you for all the replies.
She didn't send it to me for checking - she sent it to me so that I could pass it on. But I will tell her - kindly and politely Smile

I told.
She was grateful.
