“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.”

On the surface - Its a lovely anniversary post from a husband to a wife but my annoying pedant brain is just itching to comment and spoil it.
You're NOT the same fucking age so if you live to a hundred minus one day you'll die two years too early!!
Even if you were the same exact age - Why would you want your DWs last day on earth to be the day she is widowed! So selfish!!

I agree. It doesn't really make any sense at all.

Surely it would make more sense to just say 'I hope we both die together on the same day'.

My version is a tad blunter but tbh it's an odd thing to say anyway.

Celebrate your life together on your anniversary. Why bring up the subject of death and widowhood?

I love you so much that I want you to be one who goes through the experience of grief and loneliness after their spouse dies.

I agree, it's not that appealing once you start to analyse it.
