I've seen a lot of threads in which the opening post starts with 'So'. It's annoying. It cannot be right, when writing, to start a sentence with 'so'. It may be alright in casual speech.

So I agree with you, it is so infuriating ( sorry I could not resist Grin )

You are right , it is bad enough when speaking to someone that starts their sentence with so but it is worst when they feel the need to type it.

Not nearly as maddening as someone that I know who always says s/he turned around and said blah blah , so I turned around and said blah blah blah
After a few minuets conversation with him I feel dizzy !

So what?

Sorry, I couldn't resist either...

They are mildly better than the threads that start with ‘Ok,’

They make me feel very cross.

It is NOT alright in casual speech.

It is a plague, along with Can I Get?

Yep, annoying.
But not as annoying and prevalent as “me and DH”. I see it multiple times a day and have stop and correct it in my head. Angry

I'm glad I'm not alone. I've seen two or three threads starting with 'so' over the past couple of days and do not understand why people do it.

I do this. It's because, in my mind, I am continuing a conversation. It's bit like when you haven't seen a good friend for a while and you just pick up where you left off. Sorry for annoying you.
