I am starting a new job in a few months after being a SAHM for a long time. I'm really embarrassed to say that I am panicking because I will need to write short reports and briefs for my colleagues and I am embarrassed at my lack of confidence and ability WRT punctuation and grammar. It is amazing I got to this age without having mastered this. My previous roles have not involved a lot of admin.

The problems I have really are mainly to do with the use of punctuation and I seem to get it wrong when I use : ; ( ) ! etc.

Can anyone recommend some resources? I feel embarrassed going into WHS and getting some year 3 resources Blush

Eats, Shoots and Leaves by Lynn Truss is a brilliant, easy to understand and really entertaining book about punctuation. It's just fantastic and I highly recommend it.

By the way it's for adults! But goes right back to basics. It was a bestseller!

the Penguin Guide to Punctuation by Trask very good. And easy to understand. I recommend it.
