Bought vs Brought

I had read on Mumsnet that people sometimes get these two words mixed up. I have to say I was sceptical. Until I saw this (wording on the bonnet)....a company which actually has the verb BUY in its name can’t even get the past tense of it right.....astonishing.

It’s just not that complicated is itif you can bring it, you brought it and if you buy it you bought it- simple.

I see this mixed up all the time! how is it even possible ??? Only written down tho, iv never heard anyone say it wrong-maybe its an accent thing?

really annoys me and i have to make real effort not to comment on it.
