Complementary vs. Complimentary

Yes, I'm a grumpy-arsed pedant, but FFS, if bloody MACMILLAN doesn't know the difference between "complimentary" and "complementary" on its official literature, then we really are going to hell in a handcart!

But are they now so strapped for cash that any therapies have to be provided on a complimentary basis as well as to complement clinical care.

I always make a point of asking for my free session when I see the word complimentary used incorrectly. You wouldn't believe how difficult it is to get some people to understand what you are on about. Educational standards have deteriorated to an appalling level.

If they are a volunteer - aren't they both complimentary, and, complementary??
